Loading... Please wait...Wall packs are usually used in commercial units and industrial places. It is manufactured with cast aluminum which houses the ballast, lamp, glass refractor lens and the required power cables. Most of the contractors use 175 watt metal halide lamp but in the last few years, the change has been towards LED wallpacks as it cuts energy bills. However, for those looking for high pressure sodium in 30, 70, 100 and 250 wattages and the preferred 175 watts can easily get them installed.
Wallpacks with LED are perfect for a variety of locations and suit parking lots, garages, security and street lights. Basically sufficing all aspects of ambient lighting in commercial area and buildings, most of the LED wallpack lights are eco-manufactured without any glass lead or mercury inclusions. These are virtually maintenance free and do not generate heat even after running for a long time. With a high CRI, these wallpacks cut energy bills and are dimmable suiting energy conservation.
The commercial and residential requirements of wallpacks the requirement is on eco-friendly and energy saving light fixtures. This requirement is sufficed with LED wallpacks that meets al of the current requirements. The U.S Energy report on the use of LED’s instead of the incandescent bulbs and tubes can save nearly $15 billion by 2030. The heat generated by incandescent bulbs cannot be dissipated easily and leads to higher air conditioning costs. LED wallpacks and other light fixtures using LED do not generate heat at all and the lumen output remains the same.
One of the most common fixtures that are usually found is the high pressure sodium lights that give off a yellow-golden light. The LEDs though available in a variety of colors only give-off white light. They are point to focus lights and do not have glare and light spillage. These are 60% more effective and conserve power than metal halide lamps. Another fluorescent light is economical and ideal solution for wall mounting, perimeter lightening and aids security. Using little power they give out higher lumen, making them affordable solutions when searching for a wallpack.
Among a range of different lamps and lighting solutions, induction wallpacks have emerged at the top of the line illumination and security lights. With 100,000 hours of non-stop high quality light, induction wall packs and other fixtures that use this technology makes then maintenance free. To get a better understanding, a 250 watt induction lamp can be easily compared to a newer 400 watt Metal Halide when you compare the light output. But on comparing the wattage, the 250 watt induction bulb uses 250 watts of power while the metal halide 400 watt uses 454 watts. Thus, the total saving on a monthly basis by using an induction wallpack is much higher.
